Thermal or thermal regenerative post-combustion is the process of cleaning industrial exhaust gases. Contaminated air, explosive process gases, flare and waste gases are lead to a combustion chamber and burned in temperatures between 700 °C and 1,200°C.The Höntzsch Vortex sensor with ATEX and SIL certification measure the flow rate of inflowing, solvent-containing exhaust air to manage the high energy consumption in combustion. They are robust (no moving parts) with longevity and minimal maintenance.
In sterilizing tunnels hot air flows through the so called HEPA-filter down into the heating zone. There, sterilizing hot air with a very low flow velocity is blown down to the glas containers and monitored with Hoentzsch Vane Wheel Flowsensors.
Flow velocity for process regulation for paint booth, clean rooms, semiconductor and filling and packaging applications.
Many municipal sewage plants apply the activated sludge process where sludge aeration air is being pumped into aeration basins, speeding up the degradation process. To increase the plant’s energy efficiency flow velocity should be measured in order to calculate (mass) flow rate.
Portable or fixed measuring of landfill gas in single wells or at the gas well’s collecting pipe leading to the combined heat and power plant.
Anaerobic landfill gas is generated after attrition of the enclosed oxygen. Biomass stored in landfill waste is metabolised in a multi-stage degradation process resulting in mostly methane (CH4) and carbon dioxide (CO2).
Technical ventilation of rooms / monitoring ventilation systems for ex applications or for rooms with hazardous materials: battery production, mining, tunnels, laboratory, computer and clean rooms…
How can we explain something that’s invisible? That’s a problem everyone who works with gas flows in pipelines faces. How does flow behave after an elbow? What effect does a flow-rectifier have and what flow velocity occurs at different points of the cross-section?
Measuring air exchange in engine rooms on LNG (liquified natural gas) ships
Forced engine room ventilation of LNG ships is required to prevent the rise of dangerous atmospheres.
Hoentzsch in Germany developed a new Polymer vortex sensor for highly aggressive gases in the chemical industry, petrochemistry, semiconductor industry, electroplating and applications with halogenated gases which do not allow metallic material. The only parts contacting the medium are the sensor body made of high-performance polymer, the transducer made of aluminium oxide ceramics and seals made of fluororubber.
Flow measurement of Biogas has faced huge problems due to high humidity, condensation, particles, varying compositions, aggressive and explosive media and marginally low air flow.
The Hoentzsch Vortex VA Flowmeter offers an accurate measurement solution for the Biogas environment:
